Operation Iraqi Freedom

My Time

Friday, December 26, 2003

Sorry I didn't let you guys know about the PT test earlier...but basically there was nothing to inform you about. The test was cancelled due to lack of graders. See the graders were supposed to take the test on Tuesday so they could grade on Wednesday, but since it took so long to get our ID's made they couldn't take the test therefore couldn't grade. So eh...what can ya do? No problem for me, just gives me more time to heal and get back into shape. Anyway, hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I know just being here and not having to wake up Christmas morning in Georgia was a blessing. So Merry Christmas to you all, my next post won't be until at least Monday. God bless you all.

Well, today went really well. We got our ID's made and I didn't have to drive 40 minutes to my unit just to have to turn around and come back, so that made me happy. Tomorrow HOPEFULLY we have a PT test in the morning then we're off for our pass until the 29th. Cross your fingers everyone. Either way, we're going to get the pass, so don't come around here expecting and updates between the 25th and 29th. But I will let you all know how the PT test goes tomorrow. Peace out all.

So today we did some PT. But the cold weather had me coughing for a good three hours straight. That wasn't any fun, I'm over the sick part, now I just gotta get rid of this cough. So our PT test is still on Christmas Eve, but my ankle's been hurting lately so I don't know how that's going to go. But I did go to the VA hospital today to get my ankle looked at....everything's healing on course, but not anywhere close to 100%. So he told me to run as hard as I could but if it started hurting to stop or I'd do more damage...there goes my E-5. I have to pass the PT test before I can get promoted and honestly, I don't know if I can run the full two miles w/o it hurting. Guess I'll have to play it by ear, but I refuse to damage the thing more just to get promoted...it's not worth it to me right now. So that was my day. Tomorrow is the real day for ID cards, last time it got messed up. So I get to meet here in Asheville which means I get to sleep in....OH YEA!!! Alright everyone. Good night, thanks for your prayers and support for me an the troops. God bless.
