My Time

Saturday, January 03, 2004

Hey guys, sorry it's been so long since ive written. The site has been down so I haven't been able to update. So for the last couple days we have been doing nothing but packing. We have gotten so much done over the last couple days just slaving in the motorpool and the supply rooms getting stuff done. Not many classes now, cause it's game time.

We leave tomorrow morning. Today was an emotional day for me and my family w/ all the goodbyes and such. But after saying goodbye to my mother I got into my car and turned it on and a Dave Matthews song was on. The first lines that he sang were "Everything will be alright. Come out of the noise for some time. Everything will be alright. For now, goodbye. My friend, goodbye." Now I'm not a huge believer in messages coming from my radio, but it made me feel better at least. It let me know that no matter what happens, I'm being prayed for and looked out for.

Tomorrow morning is the big day. A little excited, a little nervous, mostly just anxious. Can't wait to see what's in store. I know it's going be hard and hopefully a little fun, but overall, experience is what I'll gain. I have no idea what's going to happen when I get to Georgia or how long it will be before I can get to a computer, but when I do, I'll update you on everything. I love you all and God bless. Thank you for your prayers and support. See ya when I get back.

Well, first two days back from the pass and let me just say that Sunday is coming way too fast. I'm pretty sure that the days are no longer 24 hours long around here. We're having a family day at my unit on the 3rd (Saturday). Anyone that wants to attend needs to contact me via e-mail or telephone and I'll let you know where the unit is and what time to be there. I (and by I, I mean my cousin) have included a link to my e-mail address at the right side of the site...it says "e-mail me" or something of that nature. All we have been doing are the regular classes and such, and we got issued our rifles, gas masks, and accessories today. Not everyone gets a night vision scope but for some reason I did. Sounds cool right...not really, just another 500 dollar piece of equipment I have to keep up w/ so...horray. Well anyway, hope all is well, hope all had a great Christmas and hope all of you have a great new years. God bless.
