Operation Iraqi Freedom

My Time

Friday, January 09, 2004

So I guess I'm getting into this every two day update thing. It's easier on me. We'll see how it goes when I get to Iraq. So we've found out some info that sounds real, but you know how it goes, it could very easily change. Right now it looks like we'll be done w/ training around the 25th of January and out of GA as soon as the 26th of February. It looks like we may be going to a place in Iraq. I know I had some more stuff in this sentence earlier but I found out that wasn't supposed to go out, so I've erased it. Yesterday we went through SRC. That is prety much just like what we did down at Ft. Jackson. I got 4 shots, blood drawn, and I got injected w/ small pox. It actually was a cousin to small pox but it is a live virus that builds our immunity against small pox in the event that it is used in biological warfare. That is basically the only thing we did yesterday, but it took all day long. Today was a great day, if you'll look, it's almost 11:00 and I'm done for the rest of the day. Today we had to zero our weapons. We did it on a laser range too so that was fun. They took these little laser scopes and added them to the end of our weapons, then when we shot, it projected a laser that hit the target and told us where we shot. If your shot group was under 2.8 cm, then you qualified. I went first so now I'm done, and I'm hopefully done for the rest of the day.

The other good news is that I got the mailing address here where I'm staying, the bad news is that I don't have it on me at the moment. But if I can get back down here today I will post it, and if not, then I'll do it tomorrow. So that's it. Hope you guys are having fun, I miss you all like crazy, but my morale is up and I'm feeling good so don't worry for me. Well God bless you all, give me a call or shoot me an e-mail and I'll get back to you when I can. You can also post a comment and I'll get back to you there when I can. Love you all.
