Operation Iraqi Freedom

My Time

Sunday, March 28, 2004

Grettings everyone. Well, like I said, the last few days have been semi-eventless. We had a couple outgoing mortar rounds for the last two or three days, and this morning was the first time I've heard incoming for awhile. You can usually hear the difference because the outgoing ones sound fainter and the incoming ones shake everything like a train over an appartment building. This morning's incomings were pretty close. Apparently they went over us. Not like directly over us, but they were launched on one side of us and hit somewhere on the other side of us. I'm not sure if anyone was hurt. Apparently there was a soldier killed here a few days ago. I heard that from someone that saw it on CNN, but I'm not sure who it was nor did I even hear about it. Other than that we did a little bit of postal training yesterday. I kind of saw where I might be working. It's not great, but it could be a lot worse. We're still living in a huge warehouse. The inhabitants are starting to call it the homeless shelter. They say our move in time for our new building is 2 weeks, but if you ask anyone any given question about when something will be done they say 2 weeks. So that means we could be here for a long long time. Anyway, hope all is well. Thank you for your support and God bless you all.
